In December 2006, my family and I travelled to Maui. In one word FANTASTIC !!!!!
Maui is a beautiful island and we saw a lot of it.
But the best time I spent on Kanaha Beach going windsurfing.
My first time experience in big waves.
I finally could shake hands with Mr. Jeffrey Henderson of Hot Sails Maui
http://www.hotsailsmaui.com and
Bernd and his dad Norman Roediger http://www.berndroediger.com
My parents, sister, grandparents , aunt and uncle were my enthusiatic audience, screaming and taking a lot of pictures everytime I jumped into those big waves.
I was very glad Bernd and Norman were at my side in the waves that day my mast broke and I had to be rescued by the life-guards with a jet-ski to tow my gear back to the beach. It was a great adventure. A special thanks for both of them.
At Ho'okipa Beach we saw surfers - amazing - and we did a lot of sightseeing on this really beautiful island. We saw whales, the vulcano , drove to Hana on that beautiful curvy road through the rain- and bambooforest.
We all want to return soon for some more beautiful and windy windsurfing-days on Maui.
Enjoy the pictures
