WORLDCHAMPIONSHIP PRO-KIDS SLALOM 2007 ALACATI TURKEY
9-15 JULY 2007
With our team ( 7 competitors and 10 enthausiastic supporters) we went to Turkey. We arrived on the 6th of July and had a few days to get used to the Turkey waters. The wind was very good with gusts up to 40 knots. Waw !!!!
But........ on monday the 9th of July when the competition started there was nothing. No wind at all and this lasted up to thursday-evening. At 7 PM the pospone-flag was down and the Masters started there first heat. At 7.30 PM the pospone flag went into the top again because the wind was gone!!!!!!!
Friday morning at 9 AM captain-meeting and the event started finally. Good wind (between 24 and 28 knots).16 participant under 17 started in two different heats. The 4 winners and the 4 losers of each heat went into the final-winner heat and final loser heat. On Firday we had to race 3 complete heats and on Saturday 3 more.
It was a great experience and the result was ofcourse fantastic. I got Worldchampion under 13 years and 3rd under 15 years.
